The research group of plant genetics and genomics deals with various research topics applied to viticulture including (i) genotype x environment (GxE) interactions, with particular reference to the plastic response of the vine to several terroir factors such as soil; (ii) the grapevine transcriptional response to both biotic/abiotic stresses; (iii) the genetic and epigenetic determinants related to the transcriptional regulation of biosynthetic genes associated to grape quality; (iv) the establishment of crossbreeding populations for the development of resilient genotypes; (iv) the sequencing and/or resequencing of varieties of regional and national interest for the identification of polymorphism and structural variants linked to traits of viticultural interest.
